The main issue is the event poster, crowd scene of everyone's characters, including a tiny dancing Hyun Sook. They removed her in places where the poster itself is AI-ified. I'd asked them to remove it entirely if that were a danger, but they didn't think "on an AI-generated wall" counted.

By technicality they followed my "not associated with AI" condition, due to me not distrusting them enough to be extremely specific. I've covered up bits of my art with tape where it overlaps with giant AI murals and will have to compromise on "next to AI" so we don't need construction equipment.

It's night time now, no one's there, and I am unsure of how to react to this. My name is already all over the marketing. It's happening literally outside my studio door. It's a condition of my free year's rent. This is supposed to be an agency devoted to supporting cartoonists. I am displeased.

Last year they put my art on a bench, and it was the highlight of my year. It even got written up in Publisher's Weekly. A local artist whose work covered a building and filled the skyline would have been life-changing. Instead we have nonsense AI with different numbers of fingers on each hand.

They said the government was threatening to withhold funding if they didn't involve AI in some way so they were doing it at an exclusive event, not in any public marketing. I agreed to use my live drawing, my author talk, and my portfolio review sessions to promote real art.
