This is the grave of the stonemason Thomas Mulloy at Crosspatrick, near Killala in County Mayo. It dates to c.1880. Legend says that Mulloy left money in his will to anyone who could fasten the last button on his waistcoat! #Ireland #Samhain #SpéirGhorm

The field maple is a definite favourite tree close to the year’s end; the pools of subtle light its dainty, butter-yellow leaves bring to the woodland floor or hedgerow base, on a dim November day.
