A new global #checklist #dataset of #polychaetes from #deepsea chemosynthetic and reducing habitats is now public. It has 368 taxonomic records with WoRMS-validated names, habitat coding, and literature sources. Full data paper: doi.org/10.3897/BDJ....

It's strange coming back from two weeks at WHOI talking ocean instrumentation & deep-submergence and diving back into DSM work. Beyond anything else, there's this naive optimism that the technology will just work, while everyone with expertise in deep ocean tech is going "oh you sweet summer child".
