I used to read and review books. Now I just stare at the wall. I also hate leaf blowers.

And one last note: Virginia Madsen is incredible in this. I love her performance. Absolutely stunning.

Show PostCandyman is a lot of things, and was groundbreaking for a lot of reasons given the time of its release. That the story and its themes still resonate today even more so is a testament to its true artistic value. I love this movie deeply and only wish I could go back to see it again for the first time
Show Post“Be my victim…” Tony Todd gives such a commanding performance here, both frightening and seductive, grotesque and magnetic. It’s such a maelstrom of contradiction you can’t take your eyes off him for a second. His iconic introduction a full 45 minutes into the film is the stuff of screen legend.
Show PostCANDYMAN (1992) I saw this in theatres when I was 18. The experience wrecked me. From Philip Glass’s gorgeous haunting score, to those incredible overhead shots of the concrete despair of Cabrini-Green, Candyman was doing something stylistically and thematically I’d never seen before. #horrorsky
