I left my folks place at 17 and me and my roommates would watch Star Trek: The Next Generation every single night because it was on repeats on Channel 50 and we were too broke and too young to go out. That show is so wrapped up with me trying to figure out who I was and how to live on my own.

RIP Patrick Stewart, who seemed like a genuinely decent man. I met him once. He was doing Virginia Woolf at the Guthrie and I was invited to interview him. It turned out this was his second time doing the show.
