At the end of the day, this is the best Arthurian film and it isn’t particularly close
Show PostAnd like of all of the movies to be shocked someone would hate, you’re shocked a movie whose jokes mostly amount to saying the f bomb over and over wasn’t a movie I liked
Show PostI love it when people have the “well a lot of people loved it” argument about a movie I hated as if I’m just being a contrarian. My top 2 this year are The Odyssey and Spidey. Deadpool and Wolverine just stunk.
Show PostOne thing I DO love about this movie is it doesn't portray knight-on-knight, heavily armored combat as something pretty or overly formal. They kick each other. They wrestle, punch, smack, etc. The Gawain-Lancelot duel isn't canonical but it is BRUTAL and feels real.
Show PostKiyoshi Kurosawa’s The Samurai and the Prisoner (2026) is just ELECTRIC. Tension in every frame, everyone rocks, locked in from word go, carrying every blade of dialogue like a grenade. Holmes as a scheming Lecter within the dungeon of a Throne of Blood edition of Clue. Just top goddamn notch.
