Yeah, I really struggle with the level of noise, there were some quieter spots at least. I suspect what I need to do some year is chill where the locksport is when the sessions are on. It's so packed between sessions which I suspect makes it harder. But the completionist in me hates missing talks.

Hoo boy. I’ve long advocated for reviving Chch commuter rail and the Southerner. I’m delighted! …except in how it is announced, with govt in caretaker mode during an election campaign, by a minister who mere days ago in his capacity as a party leader touted this as a policy in his re-election pitch

In my experience with hackspaces in Europe, it always helped if someone approached newcomers and offered to introduce them to the space and its people. Might be a bit less straightforward for a conference, but I suppose one could have designated volunteers to guide people feeling lost.
Show PostThe after-party was definitely a good opportunity to meet people and have interesting conversations, I however tend to struggle with the noise level at most parties.
