Yeah, the AFN chief and Manitoba chief are pointing to real problems with people assuming a Métis identity and official Métis organizations disregarding First Nations, but then they're choosing an equally wrong nuclear option of denying Métis people are Indigenous, which doesn't solve the problems!

The Assembly of First Nations national chief in her anti-Métis statement claimed, "I mean First Nations were the only group, along with the Inuit, in this country to begin with," but part of why Métis people are considered Indigenous in Canada is because we were also here before Canada was!
