We are all so saddened by the tragic passing of our colleague and friend Marta. A shock to our community. We will cherish her memory, which is filled with enthusiasm, generosity, and collegiality.

We are deeply concerned to hear that 2 of our colleagues, Tamara González Costa & Marta Shahbazi, remain officially missing following the tragic train accident in Spain on Wednesday. Our hearts & thoughts are with their families, friends & colleagues during this painfully difficult & anxious time.

It's been now confirmed both Marta and Tamara died in the accident. My deepest condolences to their families and the developmental biology community. Such a loss is difficult to explain 🧪
