Yeah and the hourly cost doesn't even factor in they usually ask for several hours worth of retainer up front. When the guy selling the condo we live in now was trying to back out (the day of the signing, way too late, obviously in the wrong) it cost us $1500 to even -begin- legal action

I chose not to sue the company that killed my cats. Another pet owner did AND won a big settlement. But at the cost of 9 months of them telling the court again and again how their beloved pets died. There's also a potential emotional and time investment many of us can't do. I couldn't.

The worst types of people are those who, when told there might be reasons you don't want to sue, accuse you of being the reason these companies get away with shit. Excuse me? Also, I HAD successful litigation. We settled out of court, still cost me nearly $10,000.

I beg of you, random person reading this, STOP REPLYING TO POSTS TELLING THE PERSON TO SUE. It is NEVER helpful. Most of the time there are numerous reasons that might not work BEFORE we get into lawyers costing $2-300 per HOUR. This is for every topic. If you aren't a lawyer, shut up.
