Can anyone link to the Times Higher Education piece has been nominated for in the Press Gazette awards? All I can see is a comment piece complaining about a lawyer’s reply and being reported to the police. Not good, but hardly award winning. Happened to me & others many times. Occupational hazard
Show PostNor has Orr the guy involved in the Illegal Reform funding scheme been given anything like the coverage and is I assume still working at Cambridge Uni.
Show PostThis thread is not any judgement on the merits or not of the journalist nominated. This is not about him. It’s about an industry-wide inability to hold itself to the same account it demands of all others.
Show PostAn overtly racist network targeted Arday. Not a single outlet investigated that until after his death. This award is a whitewashing of the industry’s failures in its most literal sense. It’s also just appallingly bad taste.
Show PostI profoundly disagree that the public interest was served by the collective & individual reporting on Arday. That aside, to ‘celebrate’ any article before the inquest has assessed the evidence around his death seems wildly premature. To say nothing of being cruel & insensitive toward the family.
