Putting off impeachment for months on end, decreasing the number of impeachments, and ignoring large numbers of crimes, drastically reduces the political pressure. Less political pressure makes conviction far less likely.

This is such overcomplicated three-dimensional chess shit. Push your priorities through Congress when you have the power to enact them and if the president vetoes them, that just shows that *he's* the roadblock to progress and voters need to re-elect you and replace him.
