paradoxically (but not surprisingly), not responding in these cases usually feels much more isolating for me than getting into an argument or "tense discussion" or whatever the "friendly" version is because there isnt even the hope of anyone else understanding anything about you at all

and in that case i do often feel like direct/public confrontation works because if the person is going to dissemble about stuff you might as well make it clear to everyone. but also its stressful and i got enough of that in my life, so, :/

maybe this means, among other things, that i could stand to bone up on rhetoric, presentation, etc but also its hard to get people to talk clearly when they do often know theyre up stirring some shit, hence the "its not worth it"
