I think this is why many are angry at the NYT about Peltola. There is no context or sense of proportionality provided when Dem malfeasance occurs–in fact, it is often implied that Dems are worse, both in scale and kind. Like I said below, this isn't sustainable politically.

Breaking character: I'm just gonna say it: I hope Dems in in Alaska more than ever now. The whining from Republicans about "cheating", the endless Atlantic pieces about how Dems must condemn deceptive electoral practices or they are no better than Trump...will all be sweet, sweet music to my ears.

That's my hope. Lots of people pay no attention to elections until a couple weeks before. So maybe people initially said they'd vote Tafoya because they know her from TV but then saw she's said some terrible things in defense of the Iran war and high prices. I guess we'll see.
