DRAC was always screaming to be both silent and heavily scored. Such a release would be a monster hit in the silent fest circuit, I will wager.
Show PostInternationally (and even domestically) not all theaters were wired for sound in 1931, so studios would also send out silent cuts of major releases. Not sure when the last one went out but DRACULA was definitely one of them.
