You know, I'm fighting it hard, but the scientific racism of the age is starting to get to me. Brain fog. Is it perimenopause? Late diagnosed ADHD? The unrelenting grief of this era? Or am I existentially doomed to feel out of place in these R1 academic spaces even as a full professor and chair?

She did. She was very encouraging of me starting my PhD, she talked to me about it a lot. I think about how she was supposed to be in my acknowledgement section of the thesis, and now she's gonna be in the 'dedicated to' section, and that feels wrong. Its all messed up.
