I don't know if USPS does this, but sometimes a customer service agent will have to ask you your challenge question over the phone to verify your identity. This could be about avoiding inappropriate scenarios there.

It's genuinely hilarious how it's literally the LEAST they could do, they aren't being told moderate and smite it from existence by 95% of their users (though I imagine the number wouldn't be THAT far off), just "Put a label on it please" and they can't even be bothered to do that much
