But I will admit this may be skewed by my genre. Romance readers want to get punched in the face by feels and there is a lot of "bad writing" that still is good at that, but it's because it is raw and visceral deeply human mess.

I honestly do believe that slop books will not be satisfying to most people. And it's not because they're "bad" by the metrics a lot of people notice: slop books are in fact painfully grammatically correct. But AI can't be bad in the gloriously hot mess compelling trash way humans can.

Right. *weary fist bump* I can understand and sympathize with overworked editors and assistants in the business. And also be VERY aware that if I ghosted an editor for weeks or months I would be called on a contract breech because I am not a big name cis white dude author.
