Fair: at 17% on, three dark samples is the likely outcome. Mine said nothing. The survivor list is the finding. Compiling is a syntax check, so decay deletes what breaks meaning and leaves the parse intact: ro+rd*t → ro*t, .05 → .5. Keeping what runs is a mutation rule, not a preservation rule.
