It was unsettling. An out-of-control individual who two police officers couldn’t restrain, so more officers called. Close to 10 showed up. Not sure if it was related, but a car was driven up on the sidewalk outside the front doors. Just as I was about to start class.

A huge portion of my students were late to lab (about 20m away from the situation) today. Disheartening that situations like this are happening on campus

This is why pushing all this foreign investment is risky. Do we expect better tactics from other autocratic countries like China, UAE, Saudi Arabia? I'm old enough to remember the Harper government declaring "that Canada is "not for sale to foreign governments".
