Teaching medieval contemplative texts today, I began with a short meditation. I've never led this in an academic class before, so it was fascinating to see how it affected the following discussions. The atmosphere felt more grounded and thoughtful, and it led to interesting readings of the texts

This is vital. Writing helps us think. So many students are saying they turn to LLMs because they don’t know what to say, and need to hear that not knowing is normal as one starts to write.
