From that POV it’s not “well we need to rebalance the court after republicans held a seat open for a year after Scalia died,” it’s “oh right we need to fight those guys because fuck those guys.”

Brings me back to the idea that we need a critical mass to adhere to a civic religion of democracy and specifically to loathe republicans for trying to destroy it.
