You’ll be hearing from my lawyer. Not to threaten litigation or anything. Just, you know, to commiserate with you about my behavior.

I think people are misled by the Nazis co-opting big business, missing that finding collaborators and handing out fiefs strongly contradicts the idea of market capitalism. Part of this comes from accepting the Eastern Bloc line that “capital pulls the strings” so the Nazis aren’t different.
Show Postthe color of the banners mostly affects who you mass-murder, not whether you do mass-murdering
Show Postanyways. the key point here is that you can call the ideology all kinds of things, you can paint the banners black or red, but at the end of the day what actually matters is whether you have stuff like "limited government" and "civil society" or whether you believe in demolishing those for The Cause
Show Postunder national socialism you called your boss "gauleiter" and under communism you called him "comrade commissar" but the actual power structure is more similar than you might think the colors of the banners are different, but the basic command-economy-ness rhymes well
Show Postone of the angry reactions to this article has been "no that's authoritarianism!!" and what is actually quite striking, imo, about the political economies of nazism and communism is how similar they were the nazis weren't capitalists lmao. "gleichstaltung" is just another word for "party-state."
