It can definitely close doors by the same people who ask questions like "do you like sports?" to determine if someone is gay or not. Not necessarily doors you'd want to approach, but it doesnt keep all avenues equally open.

I get it man, it sucks. But, it's just a medical term, it changes nothing. Your brain will function identically with or without a confirmation. You're still gonna be you, just like how I'm still me.

A diagnostic doesn't change who you are, it doesn't invalidate what you have accomplished, and it doesn't close doors for you in the future. It is just learning something new about yourself, maybe even give you tools to do things you had trouble with previously.
