The parallel here is Cuomo in the NYC mayor's race last year. Obviously those are very different constituencies, but in both cases the establishment Dem went all in on the Scary Brown Muslim Man narrative. It's hard to show it worked in NYC and it's not clear it moves the needle here.
Show PostPlus, Stevens is the candidate my Republican relatives were dunking on all summer as a weirdo. This isn't exactly a charismatic politician with crossparty appeal
Show PostI also genuinely did not think she would go this far and endorse Rogers as it ends the sort of plausible deniability she had about her motives, but I guess it's put up or shut up time, and also she's very stupid and vile
Show PostI actually think the Stevens endorsement of Rogers might be a good thing, as it permanently discredits all her shit as Republican nonsense. Makes the Israel issue much cleaner, something like: "any complaints within the Democratic Party about being unfair to Israel are coming from a stealth MAGA"
Show PostLol fuck these clowns. The people trying to pull the party to the right are so angry that we're about to enter into one of the biggest majorities in years and that progressive Dems are growing in power in the party.
