Pretty much every all-renewable energy grid you can pencil out imply a very high level of curtailment, and the higher VRE penetration you get, the more curtailment you need. The eye-poppingly low solar energy prices you see don't look quite as good when you need to overbuild so much.

If we can get lab-grown food down to competitive pricing that is a game-changer. Not just for chocolate, but for food in general. Imagine being able to mass-produce protein in a small industrial park rather than via a herd of cows. Granted, we're a ways off from this. But here's hoping.
