Expressing solidarity with @seas-offshore4sure.bsky.social S.A.N.D and everyone who worked so hard to stop #SeaLink. Weird that the #EADT would quote Suffolk leaders but not campaigners, while headlining their piece with our joint protest. What gives? #StopSizewellC www.eadt.co.uk/news/2668693...

If you thought the @andyburnham.bsky.social government was going to be different, you were right After re-opening the North Sea to more exploitation of gas (and probably oil), they now have renewables in their sights It really does beggar belief www.theguardian.com/environment/...

You can see why some people say they're a waste of time & money "SMR developer Oklo’s latest estimate is it will generate power for between $80-$130 per MWh. That compares to around $45 for utility-scale solar in 2025, under $60 for solar paired w some battery storage" www.ft.com/content/da1a...

Basically, SMR developers are hoping datacentres will be their big market, paying extra for their own 24/7 power supply Imagine, on top of e.g. Google wanting to plonk a massively unpopular datacentre next to a community.... then adding 'oh, yeah, we'll be putting in a small nuke in as well'

Greenpeace + Friends of the Earth making the obvious yet overlooked point that if government approves new oil fields, runways, cuts to clean tech grants, and watered down EV targets then it's hard to take its commitment to net zero all that seriously. www.businessgreen.com/news/4537926...
