tbh I think it’s helpful to remember that more than a few of the losers calling the shots on this genuinely believe that they’re going to disrupt massive ballot stuffing operations in Dem strongholds, similar to how they really thought destroying USAID would end all protests against them

cut to the bone in the last five years, when publishing was making RECORD profits. When I criticise publishing I’m not talking about overworked people on a salary who love books, but a system in which pressure is exerted from above - & writers are on the bottom, with tasks & blame falling on them.

I have a bit of time now. So my home was a no-screens home when there was really just one screen you could have. We had a TV—it was in my parents' bedroom, connected to the VCR. If I was sick I could watch re-runs there; we watched the Olympics in Olympics years. Sometimes a movie from the library
