the dev just did not get it at all, made the game stupidly inconvenient over the _idea_ of being hardcore (how would being annoyed you can't manage your time as you want be hardcore? there is no good argument for this) anyways, the dev later had a kid of his own he added manual saves

sometimes i see people do stupid shit like "you can't fast travel anywhere, just like you can't in real life" or "you shouldn't be able to save anywhere, you need to do this awkward ritual to be able to save" and like, do you not understand that these things are done to allow us to live our lives?
