It's fine of course to report it, but ginning up the outrage bells and whistles (breaking news alerts, etc.) for an old story about a minor bit of ratfucking that both sides have engaged in for years, feels like overkill. Especially in a week that saw new credible rape allegations against POTUS.

it actually is making me a little crazy to see people treat “got a guy with the same name to get on the ballot” as the height of scandal. people have used more cutthroat tactics to win student council seats!
