good stuff. i think Hardy had to be the dad of the prodigal son telling his oldest to remember that he still has the birthright but tonight it’s not about him. let this game serve as a warning and look at how one dimensional you can become if you ride on talent alone.

guys with uber talent like DP can get away with making mistakes a lot of the times because the rest of their game is already ahead of its time. but ignoring those issues early only provides the permission to believe they’re untouchable or not accountable.

if hardy’s decision was happening in game 50 vs game 5, i’d have the opposite opinion, but he’s setting the ground rules for peterson for what he expects.

if DP messes up right now he loses a few minutes here or there. for brice or collier the consequences can be finding themselves on a different team through trade or without a contract next season. hardy accepting their faults is a byproduct of hardy accepting that they are who they are as players.
