The PDoom crowd took it as proof that they’d been right all along. “What if Sydney 4.0 decided to hack into my wife’s email?” …Sure, Kevin, or what if it was all just software all along?

Show PostOpenAI and Anthropic have been *no better prepared* than Google for all the ways that this shit is going wrong. They talk a big ethics+regulation game, then do whatever they can to stay ahead in the race to AGI. Believing in AGI matters for fundraising. It hasn’t mattered for preventing harms.
