As a French teacher,I teach you that it's called circonflexe. You hold the 'u' & you will see options,then select the one you want to use.This can be done for all vowels, & 'c'. Check it out. It also incorporates accents etc for other languages, eg the umlaut, the tilde.This will blow your mind!
