i think literally all of my losses would've been wins if togetic was replaced with a suicune lol. if i had more time i would maybe try to win with this team in emerald but yknow bank shutdown. thankfully togekiss (and just better game design) should make gen 4 tower so much easier and more fun!

my team (latias / heracross / togetic) was definitely CAPABLE of getting to 56 in emerald but there was just no margin for error, togetic has a lot of useful support moves but just zero defensive synergy with the rest of my team which is so important for 3v3

turns out it's hard to play perfectly for 2 straight hours after 2 straight hours of autoscroller battles especially when you have constant anxiety because literally over half of all pokemon have some luck based item or move and all it takes is one activation of that to send you back to the start

the loss was mostly my fault, i got complacent vs a last mon charizard with my whole team left and hit it into blaze range with sun up. it was focus band so i might've lost anyway but there were ways i could've made a win much more likely

decided to do one last run of emerald battle tower before giving up and switching to rs almost lost to the same quick claw ursaring getting 3 straight quick claws in a row in two separate battles, then made it all the way to the 4th to last battle before the ribbon and lost
