i think there's a distinct lack of critical thinking skills being taught in high schools, at least around here, & they're not getting taught well in the core curriculum classes because they get to third/fourth semester classes & they still haven't caught the ball & i know my profs are confused too.

& a lot of them don't stay on topic within discussion posts, & end up answering an entirely different question than the one the professor posted without a clear path as to how they got there. (meanwhile, i sometimes answer a different question but post my clear path of how & why i got there.)

the instructions are posted, the professor put what i think are detailed & wonderful instructions down to the font that the assignment should be completed in & links to the academic databases pages on the school library, but my classmates say they're confused.

i went back from university to community college originally to change majors entirely & get an associate's that was going to lead to a more immediate career & now just to finish my associate's before returning to uni & changing majors. i notice that my classmates (online classes) do the same.
