McGrath is always worth reading, and he makes the key point that is inescapable: the housing crisis can only be ameliorated with market solutions, guided by good policy. As much as I want the feds to get back into funding social housing - co-ops for all, or at least some! - the market is bigger.

Where is he getting this money? A cop in every subway station? 109 stations x 2 shifts every day? Says public water can't be sold because ontario law, so we rely on Ford not to change that? Now says will allow them to borrow money? Price for water will not go down if that happens.
