i've told this story before but i'm thinking about it again now years ago i was working the photo counter at my job. this woman comes in with her phone and wants to dump hundreds of photos from it onto a CD and print a bunch. so i'm helping her and it's just picture after picture of random cars.

not like cool cars parked that she saw, just cars driving on the street. i don't ask, because i can kind of sense where this is going, but she starts to volunteer and ask me for my opinion. she was looking for signs that the same car/cars were in every picture, that they were following her.

with her if this escalated. she eventually gave up and paid way too much money for a bunch of pictures of cars and left, convinced /this/ was finally going to convince someone i didn't ask about that she "wasn't imagining this." i'm thinking about this in terms of AI psychosis again...
