Let's be honest here, I mostly post about trains. Well, cities too. I currently work in the Japanese education sector but I'd rather work with trains. I'm a proud Philly expat so expect to see lots of stuff about PA and Pennsylvania too.

Democrats are the "Mommy party". We've ended up in that role because Republicans are the "[abusive] Daddy party". It falls to us to pick up the broken dishes and comfort the crying kids once Daddy has passed out.

put it this way: do you care if someone like musk or miller thinks you're manly enough? i cannot imagine anything i give less of a shit about not only that, their mental gender models are both batshit & obviously making them unhappy—there is no reason at all to grant them any authority here

that's not to say you can't, personally, be traditionally masculine in some respects just that there's no amount of personal masculinity that will override being on the team relentlessly cast as feminine & queer & by caring your handing idiot fascists a huge amount of power over you

i don't have a perfect solution here, but i think the starting point for male progressives is to genuinely not care stop trying to prove to either our enemies or yourself that you're not like the annoying woke, the hysterical cringe libs, the 'hr lady' ... this is your team, defend, don't distance

politics has always been gendered in this way—think of newt gingrich's "latte siping liberals", what's actually being communicated there? but it's only got more intense (& much less veiled) in contemporary politics
