Really have to give it to the Democratic Party for nominating strong candidates this election. Thanks to primary voters, and to a lesser extent some party officials, the Democrats picked a variety of charismatic, competent candidates who seem suited to their constituencies. And dodged some bullets.

I'm in the midst of reading some 17th-c. scholastic theology, and I can attest their methodology does evolve considerably, even if the quaestio structure remains. Whether it evolved in a way a 21st-c. person would in hindsight find congenial is another story!

I actually do not know what's going to happen. I *fear* what *might* happen, and believe that the bad outcome is more likely because of the candidate, but I'll be glad to be wrong.
