I’m more for putting limits on it, same as Presidential Executive Orders. Both could & should be codified and regulated. But I support some past pardons & certainly think Biden protecting Fauci via pardon was certainly warranted.

The 'pardon' is about mercy. A token, a sparing of a young person on death row. A symbol of compassion. It was never intended to pardon treason, criminal networks or thieving billionaire donors.

That’s true for unconditional pardons. However, conditional pardons can be revoked if conditions of the pardon are not met. In addition, a presidential pardon does not provide immunity from civil lawsuits, and the underlying offense may still be considered in subsequent civil legal proceedings.
