It’s almost as if - apologies for repeating myself for years - AI does not have financial returns commensurate with its costs and, indeed, actually makes the products worse.

There's never, for good reason, an "Wow, we implemented AI and it went really great and everybody is happy" story." It's always, "It fucked shit up, cost a lot in productivity, cost jobs, didn't do what it was supposed to do, deleted entire projects, lied a lot, got us in trouble, killed people."
