One of our former developers (1.88m, lots of facial hair, dark voice, gamer, lives with parents), told us he was transitioning. It turns out he never met a trans person. It was totally caused by Discord. I feel so sorry for sweet guys like him. He is destroying his body for a pipedream.

Huge field for study by psychs, sociologists and the like. I always check bios and timelines before blocking and anecdotally I'd say a good 70% are gamers, and a fairly significant number say they're autistic or have ADHD or other. That power to create their own worlds in games has had an effect.
