It was nice to go out and see the young people (very few of them) at play but it’s also much nicer to be in my own bed and get ready for sleep, which is what I’m doing.

This is how I feel too. Her music conjured so much magic, comfort and beauty, and although it was created for children, it was unpatronising and complex, elegiac and enchanting and as Nick so exquisitely expressed, responsible for seeding a lifelong love of folk music in many. R.I.P Sandra Kerr

She wasn’t one of the Frys that made chocolate, which struck me as a great pity when I was younger, but she was in fact, fucking amazing: she had 11 children, and was constantly called upon to care for other relatives as well, but still managed to be one of the great social reformers of her era
