The historical man Yeshuah of Nazareth was just a radical Jewish preacher and to some degree a theologian. The only "evidence" he ever claimed divinity is the gospels, written long after his death. The church may have sold snake oil in Christ's name, but Yeshuah never made a promise he couldn't keep

"Hubris" is a Greek word. I think most of the Greek tragedies I've read were some variation of "I am smarter/stronger etc. than the gods" or "I/My wife is more beautiful than the goddess." Even more than blasphemy, "hubris" really is the right word.
