feels like the 'likely' roadmap to get to this point, or the one people are crossing their fingers for, is AOC challenges schumer in 2028, and a domino effect following from that on bucking leadership. which would be welcome! but man the time BEFORE 2028 is. man that's gonna be rough.
Show Posteverybody's just kinda hoping that SOMEBODY is willing to finally rock the boat and break open the seal on telling dem seniority/leadership to get fucked, and others in the party will follow, and... it's possible! it's just hard to see who it could be given current behaviors of members.
Show Postthis is one of the things where i think the dems after the 2010 wipeout are more instructive than tends to get attention. even after a brutal shellacking, all the people in charge - all in safe areas, thus keeping their seats - went 'actually we're STAYING in charge'. and the rest went along
Show Postone can only wonder just how much MORE evelyn normielib will be radicalized if, as is honestly pretty likely given all recent history and trends, the dems decide "actually hakeem is fine, we're making him speaker again"
Show Postthe radicalization of evelyn normielib has gotten a lot of talk about changing what's possible. and while this change is good, what it's unfortunately running into is that which they have little input on, like "dem house speaker", which depends on "are house dems willing to finally buck leadership"
