Perhaps out of all symptoms relating to ME/CFS, the PEM/PESE, loss of adaptability, and hypersensitivity, are the most crippling. Compared to when I was mildly or moderately affected, those symptoms stand out as becoming orders of magnitude worse. Fatigue and pain did not worsen as much as that.
