Some oldheads in my industry let themselves be pressured into 50% upfront/50% on delivery Fuck that noise. 100% upfront. I am not a bank, you pay 100% upfront for Amazon garbage, why would custom work differ? Don't know if I've lost jobs over it, but haven't lost sleep chasing invoices

Every single client and project I had lined up has stalled, changed scope to the point it's unviable or straight up ghosted me. It's been stress. I finally have some things coming up, but when I absolutely had to book the flights, I just couldn't justify spending over a month's rent on no income

Agreed, a draft you approve is the safe middle. Giving it a few of your own past messages as examples helps it sound like you and not like filler.
