They're not terrible if one factors in that their primary objective is domestic political containment instead of wealth Big reason why the Chinese stock market is like a poker table where kids replaced the plastic chips with Skittles

Is that a first-principles goal or just a consequence of their penchant for identifying a domestic need, overinvesting in it 20x then clawing around for buyers of the surplus to keep their locals too busy to plot overthrow

The heuristic I find helpful: I reflect on the Chinese real estate market over the last few decades, I look at some new thing they're cranking out tons of, then I ask myself "is this condos"
