I think one of my fears about the internet is that the younger generations don't have ready access to a place that isn't advertising to them and teaching them that their self-worth lies in how hard they advertise themselves. And idk. I hate it here sometimes. /thread

But it's also very emblematic of what happened to the internet. You can't just have something anymore. It has to boost engagement and do numbers and make money. And I realize that's not everywhere or everyone, but it's a lot of the internet.

I know it's prob an overreaction to feel like that's a massive insult to FLF, but idk. I feel like looking at a game that explicitly states you're supposed to share something you're proud of and interact with others and going, "Ah, this person is doing it to boost engagement" is kinda disgusting?
