about lurker validity & better ways to encourage interactions 6 yrs ago in response to a popular tumblr comic that insisted "fics are NOT free; you pay us w comments, that's ur job as a reader" and I still stand by everything I said "Comments keep authors going" and "lurking is valid" can co-exist
